Sun A setting sun recalls to us that borderland between life and death where we are brought when we visit a cemetery. A symbol of light and warmth, it stands for life itself. English-speaking Christians play on the word "sun" and connect it with the Son of God. The sun has also been called "God's Eye", looking down on all of us.
