The mountain-dwelling ghost of a little girl who is fond of mischief and of making children sick. The acheri is a party animal who descends to the vallies every night for her entertainment. If her shadow falls upon a child, that child will become sick. A red string tied around the neck is said to negate the shadow's ill effect.
