The evil twin of the Zoroastrian duality, a being engaged in eternal struggle against Ormazd/Ahura Mazda. When Ormazd creates, Ahriman destroys. Not only does Ahriman export smoke, blackness, sickness, death, and other noxious substances from his underworld kingdom: he embodies all that is evil. Humanity has no hope against him save by supporting his opposite.
